Scotland for Marriage poll appears to suggest that over half of Scots oppose same-sex marriage, equality campaigners point flaws and bias 

A poll published Tuesday (10 July) and conducted by ComRes on behalf of the religious anti-gay campaign group Scotland for Marriage, appears to suggest most Scots oppose same-sex marriage.

The poll states that 55% of Scots agreed with the statement: ‘Marriage should continue to be defined as a life-long exclusive commitment between a man and a woman’ and that 50% of Scots want a referendum on the question of same-sex marriage.

Faith groups in Scotland form equal marriage coalition as Christian group launches anti-gay marriage campaign in Glasgow

Faith groups in Scotland have united in support of gay marriage as Christian opponents launch a new campaign against the plans.

A coalition of faith groups and religious leaders met in Edinburgh today (30 April) to launch a new campaign to lift the ban on religious same-sex marriages in Scotland.

The Faith in Marriage group, which includes the United Reformed Church, the Quakers, Buddhists and the Pagan Federation, handed over an open letter to MSPs demanding the right to conduct same-sex marriages.
