Train won't perform for Scouts unless they drop gay ban

Grammy winning band was scheduled to play at Boy Scouts 2013 National Scout Jamboree

The Grammy winning band Train has given the Boy Scouts of America an ultimatum: drop your ban on gays or we won't perform at your annual national event.

The band, which has shown support for the LGBT community in the past. was scheduled to perform at Boy Scouts 2013 National Scout Jamboree as the closing night act.

'When we booked this show for the Boy Scouts of America we were not aware of any policy barring openly gay people from participation within the organization,' the band said in a statement.

Train, a Grammy-award-winning pop-rock band from San Francisco are trying to get their song removed from a new anti-gay marriage website that has just launched in New Zealand.

The website ProtectMarriage.org.nz was officially launched today (30 July) in response to a same-sex marriage bill that is likely to be passed in the New Zealand parliament, with a petition against gay marriage.
