Singer engages in silent protest outside nightclub in Santa Cruz

Singer Michelle Shocked showed up at the club Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz, California, on Thursday (28 March) but instead of performing on stage, she sat outside with tape over her mouth.

Moe's was one of nearly a dozen USA venues that canceled Shocked's appearance after she shocked an audience at a club in San Francisco earlier this month by going on an anti-gay marriage rant.

Torchwood star John Barrowman and spouse Scott Gill wanted to share some holiday cheer with their Twitter followers today (25 December) so they took a photo of their handsome selves and tweeted it along with this message: 'Merry Xmas and love to all of you.'

Port Talbot midfielder Daniel Thomas suspended for one match for telling Olympic divers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield to 'go bum each other'

Welsh footballer Daniel Thomashas been fined £500 for tweeting homophobic abuse about British Olympic divers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield.

A disciplinary panel from the Football Association of Wales also suspended the 28-year-old Port Talbot midfielder for one match.

The decision comes after the Crown Prosecution Service ruled out prosecuting Thomas in September, saying it was a 'one-off offensive Twitter message'.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Ricky 'Tank' Carder apologizes for homophobic slur on Twitter

American football player Ricky 'Tank' Carder has apologized for calling someone a 'faggot' on Twitter.

Despite deleting the offensive tweet on Wednesday (21 November), the Cleveland Browns linebacker initially stood by his post.

'Haters gon hate cause that’s what they do, haters don’t give respect where it should be given so I’m done arguing with you fools,' he wrote on Saturday (24 November).

But now Carder has done a U-turn, admitting he was wrong to use the homophobic slur.

Welsh footballer Daniel Thomas has been arrested after allegedly tweeting homophobic abuse about British Olympic divers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield.

It follows his suspension from Port Talbot Town FC and an internal investigation into whether the player sent the offensive tweet, which said the Olympians can ‘go and bum each other’ as a consolation to missing out on a medal in Monday’s 10-meter platform event in London.

In a statement, the football club claimed the tweet was a 'misguided prank' as a result of Thomas leaving his phone unattended.

A marriage equality video which shows a British soldier proposing to his boyfriend has been entered into a short film competition, voted for by the public.

The video from pro-gay campaign group Coalition for Equal Marriage went viral on YouTube when it was released in April and has now been viewed over 795,000 times.

Jermain Defoe has become the first Premiership footballer to openly visit G-A-Y club in London since the 1990s.

The Spurs striker was at the UK capital's world famous nightspot, which is held at Heaven, on Saturday (10 March) to watch his popstar girlfriend Alexandra Burke perform her latest single Elephant.

Jamie Redknapp was the last high profile player to visit the club in 1997 to support his future wife Louise, who sang Let's Go Round Again.
