Mr Holmes sees the world’s greatest detective attempting to unravel his only unsolved mystery

A new trailer for Ian McKellen’s latest on-screen adventure Mr Holmes was released yesterday (4 February).

Released just in time for its first screenings at the Berlinale, Berlin’s international film festival, producers have teased fans with a 90 second excerpt.

Directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, The Fifth Estate), the film is based on Mitch Cullin's novel A Slight Trick of the Mind.

Set in 1947, it sees Sherlock revisiting his last case, left unsolved, which made him quit the profession and retreat to the south of England.
