White Collar star has issued challenge to famous friends Mark Ruffalo, Joe Manganiello and Zachary Quinto

Matt Bomer has gotten cold and wet for a good cause.

The White Collar star is one of the latest celebrities to agree to participate in The Ice Bucket Challenge which got started on social media as a way to raise awareness and money for ALS.

ALS is the neurodegenerative condition also referred to as Lou Gherig’s disease.

In this adorable video, Bomer gets doused on the beach in California by his three young sons with husband Simon Halls.

Emmy nominated actor and cast enjoyed a six-season run

Matt Bomer has filmed his last episode of White Collar, the USA Network action- drama that made him a star.

Bomer tweeted on Monday (4 August): 'Last day at White Collar-I love this family so much. Thank you to everyone who supported us over the years-we wouldn't be here without you!'

The show debuted in 2009 with a then little-known Bomer in the lead role of ex-con Neal Caffrey. As a way of staying out of prison, Neal agrees to help the FBI catch other white collar criminals and works with an FBI agent played by Tim Dekay.

Co-star Patrick Wilson's character is bisexual in the Science fiction dark comedy

The trailer for a new feature film starring Matt Bomer has been released this week but it is not the openly gay actor playing the not so straight role.

In Space Station 76, described as a Science fiction dark comedy, it is co-star Patrick Wilson who plays a character who is struggling with bisexuality.

Bomer, currently filming the sixth and final season of TV's White Collar, plays the role of Ted, a mechanic married to a woman named Misty (Marisa Coughlan).

Viewers will see a much different Matt Bomer when the AIDS drama The Normal Heart premieres on HBO next month.

Bomer will initially appear to be his trim, athletic self that viewers of his TV series White Collar are used to seeing. But his character of Felix Turner, a gay New York Times character, then begins to waste away after having contracted AIDS.

There's no CGI involved to give Bomer a skeletal figure - the actor worked hard to dramatically lose weight during a three-month break in filming.

Actor reveals that he and Hollywood publicist Simon Halls wed in 2011 - the year before he came out publicly

It was no secret that Matt Bomer isn't single.

But until now, it had been a secret that he is married.

The star of TV's White Collar and of the upcoming HBO movie The Normal Heart has revealed that he and longtime partner Simon Halls have been married since 2011 to Details magazine.

The couple are raising three sons: an eight-year-old and six-year-old twins.

Openly gay star of TV's White Collar continues to land feature film roles

The openly gay actor in a romantic leading role remains the final frontier for the US movie industry and Matt Bomer is shaping up as a candidate to scale that mountain.

The star of TV's White Collar was in Austin, Texas, this week for the world premiere of Space Station 76 at the South by Southwest film Festival.

He stars in the sci-fi flick with Patrick Wilson and Liv Tyler.

It was announced this week that Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired all international rights to distribute the comedy drama set in the 1970s.

Whenever he is called to duty for a Magic Mike sequel, Matt Bomer is ready to get back into stripper mode.

The White Collar star was told Tuesday night (11 February) by Vulture that Channing Tatum is busy writing a script for the second movie and is doing so beside a bust of Matthew McConaughey.

'I trust Channing and [co-writer] Reid [Carolin] implicitly, and I'm along for the ride however they'll have me,' Bomer said.

Matt Bomer, the hunky star of TV’s White Collar, is set to guest star on NBC’s The New Normal as the ex-boyfriend of the character played by Andrew Rannells.

The show’s creator Ryan Murphy has broken the news on Twitter: 'Guess who’s coming on The New Normal as Bryan’s sexy ex-boyfriend? The one and only Matt Bomer!!!'

Gay actor Matt Bomer has spoken about growing up gay and closeted in an award acceptance speech.

Speaking at a Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network ceremony in Palm Springs, the actor and his partner Simon Halls were honored with the Inspiration Award.

‘When I was in high school, there was no safe haven, there was no outlet for you to speak your mind,’ Bomer said.
