What viewers did not know then was that she was also the first lesbian champion of the popular cooking competition on Bravo.

Kish, 30, came out publicly over the weekend when she posted a photo of herself and girlfriend Jacqueline Westbrook on Instagram with this caption: 'Helicopter ride over Charleston. Happy 1 year love. You've made me incredibly happy.'

Straight ally and former rugby star Cohen posts picture on Twitter as he prepares his festive feast

Former rugby star and anti-gay bullying champion Ben Cohen has been showing a bit of gay pride while cooking his Christmas dinner.

The 35-year-old pin-up, while straight, has become an LGBTI activist, founding the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation in 2011 to fight bullying.

He tweeted this picture this afternoon (25 December) with the caption: ‘Wearing my apron with Pride whilst cooking Christmas dinner!’

The apron declares his ‘Gay Icon’ status.

LeAnn Rimes is no stranger to Twitter wars.

But usually she's engaged in one with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville who used to be married to Rhimes' husband, Eddie Cibrian.

Rimes recently found herself in a Twitter controversy with her ex, TV chef Dean Sheremet, who she left in 2010 to be with Cibrian.

Otherwise known as Curtis Jackson, the ‘I Get Money’ rapper spoke about his new role on unscripted series Dream School.

Helmed by British chef Jamie Oliver, the show will see troubled teens being taught lessons by their heroes like David Arquette and Swiss Beatz.

Alan, a trans teen featured in the show, is seen explaining his story on the rapper’s website.

‘I started realizing that I felt different when I was in middle school, when I was hitting puberty,’ he said.

A 25-year-old Spanish man was told 'homosexuality is a mental disorder that can be treated' and underwent several tests as 'gay people are prone to all sorts of diseases'

A doctor is being sued for telling a young Spanish man he could ‘cure’ his homosexuality.

David Cámara visited the medical practitioner in the southern city of Jaén, unnamed in the report, complaining of anxiety.

The 25-year-old gay man had been vomiting, eating little, and thought it had something to do with a run of bad luck over two years.

Cámara, who works as a chef, alleged the doctor then advised him to undergo a flood of tests as ‘gay couples are prone to all sorts of illnesses’.

Paula Deen’s attorneys suggest the white employee suing Deen for using the word ‘nigger’ has ‘no standing’

TV personality Paula Deen hopes the ruling on anti-gay Prop 8 will apply to her own racial discrimination lawsuit.

The celebrity chef is being sued by Lisa Jackson, a white employee who claims she was subjected to a hostile work environment as a result of Deen’s racial slurs and discriminatory behavior.

Deen quickly lost her cooking show with The Food Network, along with nearly a dozen other endorsements, for acknowledging during a deposition that she ‘of course’ used the word ‘nigger’.

On the ABC comedy Suburgatory, Rex Lee's character of Mr. Wolfe suffered a romantic setback when his boyfriend, Chef Alan, cheated on him.

Off screen, the openly gay actor who found fame playing Jeremy Piven's long-suffering assistant Lloyd on Entourage, has had similar bad luck in the romance department.

'I'm still single, but I'm a little more hopeful than I used to be,' he says in the current issue of The Advocate.

But being single doesn't mean he's staying home every night.

I'd only been to Portugal once before, and that was an Easter weekend in Lisbon a couple of years ago. On that trip I was traveling with my ex-boyfriend, another of his ex-boyfriends, and his new boyfriend at the time – a strange combination but it worked surprisingly well.

This expedition was to Porto in the country’s north and I was on my own.

GSN meets the London chef creating the world’s most exciting hand-made chocolates

I first fell in love with Paul A Young’s sea salted caramel chocolates while I was living in Islington, dangerously close to the London chef’s first chocolate shop.

Walking past the sleek and inviting store each day, it was almost impossible to resist the small dark igloos of chocolate filled with salty sweet caramel that oozes across your tongue as you bite through the crisp casing.

Several years later, and with the offer of an interview, I was excited to be meeting the man behind the chocolate.

Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident early Wednesday by New York City police after a man claimed the actress struck him with her Porsche SUV.

A chef named Jose Rodriguez, 34, was treated for torn knee tendons at Bellvue Hospital after the alleged incident in an ally by New York's Dream Hotel.

Transgender man Luke Anderson has won the public vote to be named the winner of Big Brother UK 2012.

The 31-year-old chef from Wales has become the 13th winner of the reality TV show, joining the likes of Cameron Stout, Kate Lawler and current Big Brother host Brian Dowling.

After leaving the house last night (13 August), Anderson told host Brian Dowling: ‘I don't think it's sunk in yet. A big part of it was about acceptance. All my life I've been an outsider. Thank you so much.’

Transgendered chef Luke Anderson and gay history student Scott Mason have joined reality TV show Big Brother for its 2012 season

With at least one gay man and one transgendered man making up the 16 contestants, Big Brother 2012 is underway.

Big Brother was one of the first reality shows in the UK, first broadcast by Channel 4 in 2000. Now moved to Channel 5, the format is much the same with the housemates being given tasks to complete and then punished or rewarded.
