Gay Games allows public to probe bidding cities

The Federation of Gay Games is deliberating over who should win the right to host the event out of London, Paris, Amsterdam, Orlando and Limerick

The Federation of Gay Games (FGG) have decided to allow the public to probe the bidding cities who wish to host the event.

Amsterdam, Limerick, London, Orlando and Paris are all hoping to host the 2018 Gay Games, which will be the tenth four-yearly event.

Out of the 300 questions asked, they range from the sports that will take place to the inclusion of all orientations and backgrounds of participants.

Russian Orthodox Christians demand gay bar ban over fears nightspots 'entice' people to be LGBT

Russian religious activists are calling for the closure of gay clubs in Moscow, to stop people being 'enticed' to become homosexual.

Members of Orthodox Christian group, the Narodny Sobor (People’s Council), are petitioning the Russian capital's parliament to ban the city's gay bars and clubs.

'We conducted a study earlier and found that such a law would not contradict international law. Homosexuality, as well as its propaganda, is a grave sin,' Oleg Kassin, co-chairman of the group told Izvestia daily.

Mayors gather in D.C. announce support of gay marriage

LA's Villaraigosa and New York's Bloomberg among those in group

Seventy-eight mayors from U.S. cities large and small gathered in Washington D.C. Friday (20 January) and announced their support of gay marriage.

The group, in the capitol for the annual U.S. Conference of Mayors, included New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (pictured), San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
