Atlanta Police Department make It Gets Better video, three years after being accused of harrassment over raiding a gay bar

Atlanta police stand up for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights by making a video for the It Gets Better campaign.

The 10-minute film features interviews with gay officers and staff of the Atlanta Police Department, including Deputy Chief Renee Propes, the highest-ranking out person in the APD.

The 23 personnel talk about coming out, the difficulties of growing up 'different' and their ability to overcome it.

Leading psychiatrist urges marriage ban

Leading Australian psychiatrist claims that same-sex marriage poses a health risk to society

One of Australia's leading psychiatrists, Professor Kuravilla George, who is the State Government's equal opportunities champion and deputy chief psychiatrist in Victora, has joined forces with 150 doctors lobbying the Federal Government to ban same-sex marriage.

The group of doctors, who wrote in a letter to the Senate's inquiry into marriage equality, say that it was "important for the future health of our nation" to retain the definition of marriage as being between a man and woman.
