We check out the Picasso Museum, have cocktails and tapas, visit Barcelonetta Beach and breakfast at La Boqueria market on a short break to Barcelona

I think it is probably illegal to go to bed early with a good book in Barcelona. Something about an early night is just wrong in the land of flamenco, fiestas and nights out starting at midnight. But no fear, a little bit of sun and some Gypsy King music and I am back in my 20s – flinging caution to the wind, staying up all hours and quaffing too much red wine.

GSN travels to Lanzarote to learn how to breathe - apparently we’ve been doing it wrong

It was an early start to catch my flight from London Gatwick to Arrecife, the airport of Lanzarote.

With London bunkering down for another day of freezing weather (it was -2C as I left my flat), I was feeling slightly smug to be flying south and heading for a temperature of 21C.

Anna Leach discovers a week’s yoga retreat in Pai in northern Thailand is more than a great workout

As a long-time casual yoga practitioner it began to dawn on me that the odd class every couple of weeks was going to do nothing to help me touch my ever out-of-reach toes. I’d hit 30 and my body was just on it’s way downhill, was my depressing conclusion, unless I took some action. So I decided to do something I’d been vaguely thinking about for years - an intensive yoga retreat.

Gay Star News embraces a room full of hot and sweaty men doing 'Single Gay Bikram Yoga' - for research purposes obviously...

I am all for new experiences, so when my friend Ming asked me to join him to give Bikram Yoga a try I didn’t hesitate. Especially when he mentioned that it was a special Bikram Yoga class for single gay men...

Named after founder Bikram Choudhury who popularized the technique in the 1970s, Bikram Yoga is a derivation of traditional Hatha Yoga. Bikram classes run for exactly 90 minutes and consist of a set series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises. The added element is that Bikram is practiced in a humid heated room - about 40°C.
