When three artists from Seattle made a video about same-sex marriage they managed to create a story that was quite different from a standard gay campaign film.

It shows the life of one gay man from birth to death, from discovering his sexuality to finding a partner and then spending a long, happy life with him.

It’s created by three artists from Seattle, Washington, USA; musician Macklemore, his producer Ryan Lewis and film director Mary Lambert. And it’s become such a big hit on YouTube it has been seen by over 10 million people.

Whitney Houston, Skyfall and the Olympics named most searched on Google in UK in annual 'Zeitgeist' list

Lesbian X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan topped a list of music artists most searched on Google in the UK this year.

The internet search engine's annual 'Zeitgeist' list revealed the singer-songwriter was this year's top trending musician, beating One Direction, the Spice Girls and Korean rapper Psy.

Spraggan left the British version of the hit talent show early on in the contest due to illness.

She impressed viewers and judges with her self-penned songs.

BBC Lip Service TV star and musician has revealed she will perform at the legendary gay festival Sydney Mardi Gras

British lesbian musician and actress Heather Peace has announced she will perform down under at the world famous Sydney Mardi Gras.

The performance, which has been headlined by gay icons like Kylie Minogue, will be the beginning of a tour which will take Peace across Australia.

Touring from10 – 24 February, Peace said it was a ‘dream come true’.

‘It’s been a dream of mine to perform at Sydney Mardi Gras and I’ve also had so many requests on social media from Australian fans for me to come over and play,’ she said.

Record numbers participated in Taiwan's gay pride parade, Taipei calling for marriage equality

The 10th annual Taiwan LGBT Pride Parade took place today in Taipei, the country’s capital, with a record number of over 65,000 participants.

Taiwan’s gay pride started off ten years ago with a mere 500 participants, growing into one of Asia’s largest LGBT pride parades.

The parade proceeded through downtown Taipei, with a festive carnival atmosphere, replete with rainbow flags and flamboyant costumes.

Australian country singer Beccy Cole will come out publicly as a lesbian for the first time in televised interview tonight.

Cole was interviewed with her two country singer friends, Kasey Chambers and Gina Jeffreys, for Australian Story, a regular program on national TV channel ABC.

‘I think for years Beccy has had this secret, that she really does want people to know about but didn’t really know when was the right time and how to do it too,’ Jeffreys says on the program.

Sydney’s bear community is celebrating its wintertime festival in August this year with eight events across five days

In 2012, Sydney Bear Pride will feature eight events over five days running from August 1 to 5.

Now in its third year running, Sydney Bear Pride will open with a Bear Pride Dinner at Smash Sausage Kitchen, located on Newtown’s King Street, on Wednesday, August 1 from 8pm.

On the Thursday, Darlinghurst’s Supper Club, on level two of the Oxford Hotel, will host a live performance from 8pm by bear musician Eric Kuhlmann, which will also be the premiere of his world tour of his Red Light Songs of Lust, Love and Death show. Entry is $15.

Actor Guy Pearce and musician Jimmy Barnes are the latest famous Aussies to speak out in support of gay marriage on behalf of the Australian Marriage Equality campaign.

Pearce, who gained a large gay following after starring in the film Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, said support and acceptance of the LGBT community has grown since he played a drag queen in that 1994 film.

Barack Obama congratulated Matt Katz and Aaron Lafrenz on their New York marriage

A gay couple were shocked to open their mail and find a letter from US President Barack Obama congratulating them on their marriage.

Matt Katz and his husband Aaron Lafrenz posted a copy of the embossed letter on their Facebook page yesterday.

They were married on 23 July and received the letter from the White House five months later this December.

Katz, a musician and hat salesman, and Lafrenz, a hair stylist, met on the internet hook-up site Manhunt.
