GSN brings you some timely advice on how to keep your diet sharp while you’re hitting the slopes

‘With every raclette another ab dies...’ said my friend Ming pointedly, as I poured melted cheese over a pile of potato.

I’ve always been under the impression that when you’re skiing you can pretty much eat and drink whatever you want, as you’re burning it all off as you churn up the snow. Gay Star News has surveyed the world’s gay men to get an insight into how they start their day

It may sound slightly trivial, but I’m always fascinated by what people eat, how they make decisions about food and what are some of the assumptions that people are making about the food that they’re eating.

I have spent too many years of my life miserably scanning restaurant menus for low-carb, low-fat and, inevitably, low-fun meal options.

What I’ve never understood is that when you travel through Mediterranean countries, and it was Italy where it particularly hit me, the men are generally lean and athletic and they are happily chowing into big bowls of pasta. Some bread with that? Sure! Wash it down with some wine at lunch? No problem!

As I contemplate a dry chicken salad, the injustice is infuriating.
