Perry stages elaborate proposal during romantic picnic at a park

Former Roseanne star Sara Gilbert shared with viewers of the CBS daytime show The Talk that she is now engaged to rock musician Linda Perry.

Gilbert, one of the five co-hosts of the popular program, said the proposal from Perry came as a complete surprise and was done in elaborate fashion during a picnic the couple had in a park.

Late night talk show host David Letterman let off some steam Wednesday night (3 April) directed at gay marriage opponents during a chat with guest Rachel Maddow.

Letterman described himself as 'just sick and tired' of the arguments against marriage equality and the characteristics of the debate itself.

'I think it has really crossed the line of being nonsense,' he said. 'This ongoing, politically nuanced, religiously nuanced discussion of gay marriage, gay rights. It is absolute stupidity.'

US right wing shock jock Rush Limbaugh has suggested that he might marry his sofa if allowed to and believes same-sex marriage might open the gateway to that becoming a reality

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has suggested that same-sex marriage might lead the way to people marrying their furniture and says he has an eye on marrying his favorite sofa.

Limbaugh was speaking to a fellow same-sex marriage opponent during a March 22 broadcast when he made the bizarre comments.

'I literally was like talking to the ladies about their shoes'

Since coming out publicly last summer, Anderson Live! has featured a far looser and far gayer host in Anderson Cooper.

The daytime talk show host's sexuality was off-limits during the show's first season but now not anymore.

On Thursday (7 March), Cooper shared the horror of going to a strip club in Tampa, Florida, with a group of straight male friends more than 20 years ago.

'I had to go to one once for a bachelor party when I was in college and I literally was like talking to the ladies about their shoes,' he told guest co-host Lisa Rinna.

'Madonna? Are you kidding me? I sort of don't believe it's true"

Anderson Cooper may be a major celebrity himself, but the daytime talk show host and CNN anchor can still get a bit starstruck.

On today's episode of Anderson Live! show, Cooper talked with guest co-host Lisa Rinna about receiving the Vito Russo Award later this month at the GLAAD Media Awards.

'I'm incredibly excited,' Cooper said. 'Madonna? Are you kidding me? I sort of don't believe it's true.'

Madonna will be presenting the award on 16 March at GLAAD's award ceremony in New York City.

Irish Hollywood hunk Colin Farrell may be all masculine now, but it wasn’t always the case.

Tonight Show host Jay Leno asked British supermodel Naomi Campbell last week to lend a critical eye on her fellow guest’s pics from his past.

Campbell, known for not holding back, had some rather unflattering words for his posture and swimming costume.

But it was Farrell who put the words in her mouth, saying: ‘Before he asks, the answer is “gay”.’

He added, joking, ‘I was 17, it was 20 dollars, what are you gonna do? ‘

The lesbian talk show host, married to actress Portia de Rossi since 2008, wrote a blog post sharing her feelings rather than filing an official 'friend of the court brief.'

'I’ve never filed a brief to the Supreme Court, so I thought I would post mine here,' she writes. 'I’m sure someone will tweet it to them.'

The usually light-hearted TV presenter and actress talked frankly about the dip in her career after she came out publicly in 1997.

Soon after she came out on The Oprah Winfrey Show, DeGeneres' sit com Ellen was cancelled.

Lesbian talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly taken the bait and signed on to reprise her role as forgetful fish Dory in the Finding Nemo sequel.

According to the LA Times, DeGeneres has agreed play everyone’s favorite blue tang fish with short-term memory loss again.

Rumors regarding the sequel to the Pixar/Disney film have been swimming around for years but were finally confirmed in June last year.

DeGeneres has expressed a great love for the film, and has said numerous times on her daytime talk show how she would love to play Dory again.

The man pretending to be a woman in a bizarre online hoax involving college football star Manti Te'o said he was desperate to end the ruse so he decided to kill his online alter-ego off with cancer.

'I was trying to do everything to end it,' Ronaiah Tuiasosopo told talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw in part one of an interview that aired Thursday (31 January). 'People say it was a cruel joke. Cruel true, joke never.'

Paul O'Grady took home a surprise win for Best Factual Entertainment for his animal care series For The Love Of Dogs

While it was a relatively quiet night for the National TV Awards, a gay star took home a surprise win.

Gay chat show host Paul O’Grady won Best Factual Entertainment for his documentary ‘For The Love Of Dogs’, beating out favorites ‘The Great British Bakeoff’, ‘The Apprentice’, and ‘Top Gear’.

Voted for by the public, it is one of the only televised awards in the UK not voted for by a professional panel.

O’Grady was in good spirits until his teenage photo flashed up on the big screen to celebrate the event’s 18 years.

A right-wing US pundit has accused gay people of using the Christmas holidays to further their ‘agenda’.

American Family Associations’ Sandy Rios said she had ‘exposed’ the left’s plan to set crucial legislation around the break.

The anti-gay radio show host said true Americans who ‘care about Christmas’ are the same ones who do not want gay marriage to be legalized.

‘It’s interesting how the left pushes this stuff, so much of this always comes down to Christmas,’ Rios said, Right Wing Watch reports.

Anderson Cooper has been proving in recent days that he is nobody's punching bag on Twitter.

The New Zealand prime minister John Key said ‘gay’ as an insult during a radio interview last week.

Prime Minister John Key mocked Radio Network’s Farming Show host Jamie Mackay’s ability at golf when he was a guest on the show on Friday (2 November), saying:

‘You’re munted mate you’re never going to make it. You’ve got that gay red top on.’

The flippant comment was branded as homophobic on Twitter.

Rosie O'Donnell is a married woman.

The actress and talk show host revealed Monday (27 August) that she and Michelle Rounds were secretly wed back in June before Rounds underwent surgery for desmoid tumors which is a rare disease that only affects three out of every million people.

'We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us,' O'Donnell writes on her blog. 'When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish.'

Gay icon Lady Gaga is more powerful than the Queen of England, according to the latest list by Forbes magazine.

The World's 100 Most Powerful Women list puts the Born This Way singer at number 14, while Nobel Peace Prize winning Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi and Britain's Queen Elizabeth II tailed behind at 19 and 26 respectively.

Notable lesbians to also make the cut include US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres at 47 and Ernst & Young’s global vice chair Beth Brooke at number 99.
