It’s part of the tech giant’s wide #AndProud campaign

To coincide with Pride season, Google have launched a new campaign entitled #AndProud.

The tech giant is aiming to run an ‘online Pride parade’ this weekend (27-28 June), and is inviting service users to create digital characters with its Androidify service to take part in the parade.

Celebrities who have mentioned the #AndProud campaign on their social media include Tom Daley, Sam Smith, Kylie Minogue and Ian McKellen. Perhaps surprisingly, also included in the promotional video is Jessie J.

'Be your true self!' urges singer in open letter to his twins

Ricky Martin has written a touching open letter to his 6-year-old twin sons, Matteo and Valentino, encouraging them to be themselves, no matter what.

The singer wrote the letter as part of the Time 'Letters from Dad' series, published in time for Father's Day, where influential dads write letters to their children.

The 26-year-old star speaks to Gay Star News about her LGBTI fans

English singer-songwriter Foxes has said she cannot wait to share the stage with gay icons like Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones.

The Clarity singer will be taking to the stage at the British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park on Sunday (21 June).

'I think to be doing Hyde Park, with all the females like Kylie and Grace Jones who are massive gay icons, it’s really, really exciting,' she said to Gay Star News at the festival launch.

Northern Ireland is the last part of the UK which has not yet legalised gay marriage

More than 20,000 people marched on Saturday through the streets of Belfast, Northern Ireland in support of marriage equality.

The march began at Writer’s Square at 2.30pm, and moved through the streets to finish outside City Hall.

The march was endorsed by major Irish political parties, including Sinn Féin, and a number of Irish celebrities: singer Brian Kennedy, Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, actor Nuala McKeever, and others.

It was organised by Amnesty International, the Rainbow Project and Irish Congress of Trade Union (ICTU).

Seven-figure settlement paid to the two high-profile Hollywood executives, but no apology to Bryan Singer

The former attorneys for Michael Egan, who accused several Hollywood figures including X-Men director Bryan Singer of sex abuse last year, have issued apologies to two of the accused, David A Neuman and Garth Ancier, and paid a seven-figure settlement to both.

Neuman is a former Disney executive and Garth Ancier is a former president of NBC Entertainment.

Bruce Kraus, the city's first openly gay elected official, and several LGBTI(-friendly) groups have vowed to boycott the concert and parade in protest over her appearance

Controversial rap artist Iggy Azalea, who was booked to headline a fundraising concert at next weekend's Pride in the Street event in downtown Pittsburgh, has cancelled her performance.

The Delta Foundation, organiser of the June 13 event, announced the news on Monday.

The Foundation had faced criticism for choosing the Australia-born singer despite her past remarks on social media which were widely criticized as being homophobic and racist, to headline the event.

'We Can't Stop' singer speaks candidly about sexuality and gender identification

Miley Cyrus has opened up about her sexuality and gender identity, revealing she told her mom she was bisexual at age 14.

When she was known to all back then as Hannah Montana, the 'We Can't Stop' singer has revealed she was aware of her emotions at a young age.

Speaking to Paper magazine, she told her mom Tish as a teen she 'admire[s] women in a different way'. When asked what she meant, Miley said: 'I love them. I love them like I love boys.'

Norwegian Eurovision star Tooji on Monday released a controversial music video shot inside an Oslo church which has since attracted criticism by the Bishop of Oslo, Ole Christian Kvarme.

The video for the track Father features the singer having sex with a male priest in front of a shocked congregation.

The bishop has condemned the video saying it is 'totally unacceptable' and 'a gross misuse of the church,' according to The Local.

He added that the video’s producers had misinformed the church about the video's contents.

According to ITV News, he shouted from the stage: 'You fucking stewards, who do you think you are? This is my fucking concert, who are you?'

R&B singer Ne-Yo has denied he's gay after a satirical website claimed he was inspired to come out by Caitlyn Jenner.

The Let Me Love You performer responded to a report that went viral, claiming to quote the singer the Kardashian star had given him the 'inner strength' to embrace his 'gayness'., which calls itself an entertainment and satirical site, 'quoted' the star as saying: 'Bruce Jenner really gave me the inner strength to admit to my kids, my family, my friends, my fans and ultimately to myself that I am gay.

Justin Bieber has assured his fans that he is not gay after posting a video of him kissing a male friend.

The 21-year-old Baby-singer added: 'But even if I was that's not an insult.'

Bieber uploaded a video on Instagram of him skateboarding on a private jet on Monday (1 June).

In the clip, he spins in circles on a futuristic board before leaning down to plant a peck on the cheek of a male friend, then flashes a cheeky grin at the camera.

Adam Lambert has released two more songs from his upcoming album which will be released in June.

The new songs follow the release of the album’s lead single Ghost Town, during which the openly gay singer said he ‘panicked’ when he learnt Madonna had released a song with the same name just days before him.

This time, there are no strange coincidences or releases of songs with the same name.

First to be released is the up-tempo pop number Evil in the Night, in which Lambert takes stock of his love life, much like in Ghost Town.

Lithuania in historic Eurovision first

Tonight at the Eurovision Song Contest Second Semi-Final in Vienna, the performers from Lithuania scored a Eurovision first with not one, but two same-sex couples sharing a kiss on stage.

Watched by millions of television across the world, singers Vaidas and Monika opened the show with their song called “This Time” supported by two male and two female backing singers and dancers.

Rather Be singer Jess Glynne has revealed she was left heartbroken after being in a relationship with a woman.

The British songwriter said while she doesn't define her sexuality, she was 'in love' with this girl.

'I was actually broken-hearted. She just fucked me over,' she told ES magazine, about the breakup in 2013.

'It was the first girl I'd ever fallen in love with. I've never said that to anyone. It was a relationship that was so new to me. Someone I met working.'

'They have no clue that I’m gay!'

Sam Smith has said he loves that there may be homophobes who listen to his music and don't know he's gay.

The 23-year-old British singer appears on the cover of French gay magazine Têtu's 20th anniversary edition this month.

'I like the idea that there may be homophobic guys who listen to my record and they have no clue that I’m gay!' he told the publication.

'I would like to become a voice for gay youth in difficulty around the world,' he continued.

'I just created a foundation.'

Ghost Town singer talks about 'momentary freak-out' over Madonna's song of the same name

Adam Lambert has revealed his ideal type of guy: otters.

The openly gay singer appeared on Monday (18 May) night’s Watch What Happens Live when a caller asked him what he looks for in a guy now.

'If I knew, I’d probably be dating somebody,' he replied.

'I think you get into your 30s and all the sudden you don’t know anything about anything and you’re okay with it.'

Gay host Andy Cohen then asked if he liked twinks.

'Sometimes,' Lambert replied. 'Not so much bear, more younger.'
