Eyewitness claims he saw 'Careless Whisper' singer tumble out of a car at 70mph on a busy British motorway

British gay singer George Michael is lucky he didn’t die, according to a woman who witnessed his car accident.

The ‘Careless Whisper singer fell from the passenger seat onto the third lane of a busy motorway.

The 49-year-old was airlifted to hospital with a head injury following the accident last week, although his publicist attempted to pass his injuries off as ‘superficial cuts and bruises’.

Witness Katherine Fox was driving behind Michael’s car when he tumbled out, she hit her brakes and skidded to a halt.

Twin boys arrive early but are healthy and thriving

Country music singer Chely Wright and her wife, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, are the parents of identical twin boys born over the weekend.

The singer, whose hits include Single White Female and Shut Up and Drive, gave birth to the children on Saturday (18 May) in New York City.

The babies are named George Samuel and Everett Joseph after their great-grandfathers.

In announcing her pregnancy in March, Wright had said the babies were technically due in July but since they were identical twins, she had expected to deliver at least a month early.

British gay pop singer George Michael was a passenger in a car which crashed during the evening rush-hour

Gay pop singer George Michael has been involved in a car crash on Britain’s M1.

An air ambulance, and other medics, were called to the incident which happened at 5.50pm yesterday (16 May) near the motorway’s (freeway) junction with the M25, the main ring-road around London.

Michael, 49, was a passenger in the car.

A statement from his publicist sent to GSN and other media said: ‘George Michael was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic accident yesterday evening, no third party was involved.

Hollywood actress Uma Thurman is set to play anti-gay rights activist Anita Bryant in a biopic.

Bryant was a 70’s singer, beauty queen and celebrity spokesperson for orange juice. She was named Good Housekeeping’s ‘Most Admired Woman in America’ three years in a row.

In 1997, Bryant’s celebrity career collapsed when her anti-gay activist past was revealed. The mother from Florida successfully campaigned to stop gays from teaching or adopting a child in the state.

Gay X Factor star hopes for romance with the bisexual boy band singer, but says 'he can have any man he wants'

Romance could be brewing among British singers as Rylan Clark has revealed he has sent naked pics to bisexual boy band member Duncan James.

The gay star, who first came to fame on UK reality competition show The X Factor, said he has had a crush on the Blue singer for a long time.

Speaking to Now magazine, Clark said: ‘I’m too embarrassed to tell him [I fancy him], although I did send him a naked picture of myself.

‘He texted me saying it made his day.’

Grammy-nominated singer Adam Lambert was the star attraction at the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco over the weekend where Spice Girls member Mel B presented him with the Davidson/Valentini Award.

'We are right in the middle of two generations with two different perspectives but one common thread – love,' Lambert told the crowd at the Hilton Hotel in Union Square.

'With all the differences of opinion both within the LGBT community and elsewhere, the best we can do is to keep it real and to spread a message of acceptance.'

Bonnie Tyler has said if gay people watch the Eurovision Song Contest, she might stand a chance of winning it.

The Welsh singer, famous for 80s hit ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, will be representing the UK this year in Malmö, Sweden.

Speaking to London’s Metro newspaper, she said she had no idea Eurovision is a ‘big gay thing’.

British gay singer/songwriter Mika will headline a free Paris to celebrate marriage equality in France.

According to French newspaper La Parisienne, Mika will headline the Long Live Equality concert to celebrate France’s gay marriage law that passed last month, and to reaffirm the importance of fighting homophobia.

Bisexual singer describes how the anonymity of the internet brings out 'absolutely vile' comments

Blue singer Duncan James says Twitter trolls told him he would AIDS and die after he revealed his sexuality.

The bisexual British singer said he has been subject to 'absolutely vile' comments since talking about his personal life on the UK documentary series The Big Reunion. 

‘When I first came out I thought people were going to gay bash me and call me a f*ggot walking down the street,’ he told Now magazine.

‘But these days people can be absolutely vile on Twitter. One troll wrote, “I hope you get AIDS and die, you f*ggot”.’

Openly gay HIV positive lead singer of pop group Erasure says current UK school curriculum doesn’t do enough to educate LGBT youngsters on safer sex

Britain should make sex education compulsory for all school children as LGBT kids are often missing crucial information at present, says singer Andy Bell.

The openly gay and HIV positive singer from pop group Erasure was writing exclusively for Gay Star News today (7 May).

He is supporting the work of the UK’s HIV campaign organization, National AIDS Trust, for whom he will perform a charity gig in London on 30 May.

An 18-year-old drag queen has sashayed her way to global fame on New Zealand’s version of The X Factor.

With a vivacious personality and a voice to back it up, Ashley Tonga impressed in her first audition.

Singing ‘Proud Mary’, she sold it all the way down the river and had the judges clamoring for more.

Looking at the 200,000 plus views in just two days, it’s clear that while she may not be the most polished singer, she’s a great entertainer.

New Zealand has shown recently it is no stranger to viral videos.

Legendary gay pop singer-songwriter Elton John’s stage outfits will be given their own dressing room at a festival this year.

The ‘I’m Still Standing’ singer was confirmed as a headline act at Bestival, a four-day annual festival held on the Isle of Wight, England.

Record producer and organizer Rob Da Bank has claimed the star has not made any ‘diva-like’ demands.

‘It wasn’t too complicated to get Elton booked – no diva-ish antics or crazy demands,’ he told the Daily Star.

The American television network ABC Family has released an exclusive new promo for its upcoming show  ‘The Fosters’.

The show, which is produced by singer Jennifer Lopez, will center around school vice principal Lena, her police officer partner Stef, and their children.

The Fosters will become one of the only primetime shows in America to feature a female gay couple raising children, following in the footsteps of pro-gay but male-oriented shows Modern Family, The New Normal and Will & Grace.

Actress Drew Barrymore is set to host the annual awards for the Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), a watchdog group that promotes the image of LGBT people in the media.

Barrymore, who in 2010 was honored with GLAAD’s Vanguard Award, will host an evening to honor various branches in media for their representation of the LGBT community.

Bisexual singer and gay icon Lady Gaga is paying for a fan to have a hip operation.

The ‘Born This Way’ singer had a hip operation as she suffered from synovitis and inflammation of the joints.

One of her fans, named Emma, reached out to the singer as she suffers from scoliosis and hip dyplasia.

Gaga named her wheelchair after the young fan, and is now going to pay for her to fly out to consult with her personal surgeon and cover the costs of the operation.

Gay-fronted pop band The Feeling were among the performers at a special dinner, under the wings of Concorde, for England’s Manchester Pride

This is the moment when gay-fronted pop band The Feeling went Supersonic in the Concorde hangar for Manchester Pride.

The band, whose lead singer Dan Guillespie-Sells has long been involved in gay rights, performed at a red-carpet fundraising dinner for the leading pride event in north-west England on Saturday (6 April).

Guests dined under the wings of the now-retired BA Concorde plane at Manchester Airport before taking part in a raffle and charity auction.

The ‘True Colors’ singer said she considers it a performance art, and says it is very similar to what she has done in the past.

‘Sometimes a man doesn’t dress up like a woman because he wants to be a woman,’ Lauper told the LA Times.

‘He dresses like a woman to make him feel more like a man.’

British gay singer George Michael has returned to UK after reportedly spending two months in rehab for ‘emotional anxiety’.

The 'Faith' singer secretly checked into The Sanctuary clinic in Byron Bay, New South Wales, the Metro reports.

A statement from the singer’s spokesperson said: ‘There is no truth in the rumor circulating on Twitter about George Michael. George Michael is perfectly fine.’

It is 19 years to the day that Kurt Cobain, best known as the singer of Nirvana, committed suicide.

Since his death, he influenced several music artists not only by his music, but his passion for gay rights.

Cobain, who shot himself when he was 27 and would have been 46 today, told people to not buy his music if they were homophobic.

In one of his journals, he said: ‘I am not gay, although I wish I were, just to piss off homophobes.’
