Actor lost 20 pounds and also undergoes nearly two hours of make-up to become transgender punk rock singer in Broadway show

Neil Patrick Harris was so serious about transforming into a transgender punk rock singer in Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch that he went way beyond wearing make-up, miniskirts and fishnet stockings.

'I've lost 20 pounds almost for the role to try and be more feminine which sort of changed my whole posture,' Harris said in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America which aired today.

Harris, his cheekbones sunken in, described himself as 'Jared Leto manorexic.'

Blue star believes because he has sex with men, he is gay, but still considers himself to be attracted to women

British singer Duncan James calls himself gay, but says he could still have sex with a woman.

The boyband member came out as bisexual back in 2009, and later identified as gay.

Speaking exclusively to Gay Star News, the Blue member said he realises people like people like him to be ‘put in a box’.

He said: ‘I think to myself, I sleep with men, so that makes me gay.

‘Regardless of whether I sleep with women or not, I’m still sleeping with men so I’m gay.

A pop song telling the story of a transgender woman who reunites with her best friend has become a surprise viral hit in Thailand – with nearly 9 million people watching the video clip on YouTube

A new pop song by Thai singer Vid Hiper R Siam about a trans woman who becomes the lover of her childhood best friend is going viral online.

Nearly nine million people have watched the clip for the song on YouTube since it was posted on 9 March.

The song, Transgender Woman Never Cheats, tells the story of a trans girl who fell in love with her best friend, a boy when they were teens.

One night she kisses him, but because her object of affection believes she is a boy, he beats her up.

British pop star Jessie J has said since coming out as bisexual three years ago, she realises now that was a ‘phase’.

The 26-year-old singer spoke out on Twitter about how she felt pressure to be someone she’s not.

She said: ‘Remember the thing that you tried/did back in the day. The phase you had? That is so not YOU anymore?! And you look back and think wow how I’ve changed.

The singer who came to fame as lead singer of band Blondie acknowledged past relationships with women in a new interview, according to the Mail Online.

Harry was asked if rumors of her having affairs with other women were true and she replied: ‘Yeah.’

She then added: ‘Let’s say women are more sensual.’

James Arthur, winner of the X Factor UK in 2012, has been dropped from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, according to The Sun.

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has spoken out against people who call his homosexuality a 'disability'.

The flamboyant singer said he has received comments and tweets such as ‘it’s so sad to be gay’ and he finds the statements ‘indirectly offensive’.

British pop star, who had ackowledged being bisexual, is accused by Waltz of cheating on her with another man

The ex-girlfriend of Blue singer Lee Ryan took to Twitter on Tuesday (1 April) to accuse the British pop star of cheating on her with another man.

Jasmine Waltz, who became involved with Ryan while both appeared on the recent edition of the UK's Celebrity Big Brother, tweeted: 'The minute I got home to LA, he cheated on me with a Man #admitUgay.'

She then tweeted: 'Wish this was a joke. Living a lie and dragging other ppl into your life is selfish and disgusting... #bereal #manup.'

Canada’s largest LGBTI festival takes over 25 blocks from 20 to 29 June

Pride Toronto has announced more acts will join this year’s WorldPride festival line up.

Disco group Hercules and Love Affair will join house singer Crystal Waters and British-born electro pop singer Neon Hitch in a line-up of music stars to play electronic, dance and house music as part of the WorldPride 2014 celebrations.

Also performing at the event will be soul diva Deborah Cox, who had a number one hit with Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here, rock singer Melissa Etheridge and country music singer Chely Wright.

Openly gay singer Steve Grand has wrapped up his stupendously successful crowd funding campaign to finance his independent debut album by raising a whopping $326,593.

The singer, whose video All-American Boy went viral last summer, had set out to raise $81,000 and ended up with more than four times that amount.

'What can I possibly say that sums up my feelings at this moment?' Steve said in an emotional video message thanking his supporters. 'I’m overwhelmed. Grateful beyond measure. Truly moved by what you’ve done.'

Four band members say they will always remember their gay singer and 'brother' who tragically and suddenly passed away in 2009

Irish boyband Boyzone have said they regret going on tour too soon after the death of their late bandmate Stephen Gately.

The gay singer passed away in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of just 33, and the band performed together two years later.

Speaking on This Morning yesterday (24 March), Mikey Graham said of their 2011 tour: ‘It was too early for us to go out. I don't think we were emotionally stable enough to go out on that tour.

Inspirational advocates from across Asia share their stories at landmark awards ceremony in Singapore

Asia’s LGBTI heroes have been honored at the first Asian Pink Awards in Singapore.

Campaigners and company representatives flew in from all over the region and as far away as Europe for the event last night (16 March), organized by Asian gay men’s magazine Element.

Among those honored was A-Mei, the hit Taiwanese singer who held a free concert in 2013 to support same-sex marriage.

Another singer, Laure Shang, a past winner of the Chinese Supergirls contest and an LGBTI advocate was also given an award.

Boy George has said straight artists appear to have more influence on LGBTI rights than gay artists.

The British Culture Club singer has questioned whether Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit ‘Same Love’ would have had the same impact if the duo were gay.

Speaking to News Ltd, he said: ‘If it had been a gay rapper that had done Same Love I think it probably wouldn’t have had the same impact…

‘It’s a weird thing about our culture. I think Same Love is a great record, I don’t care if he’s straight or gay, it doesn’t matter.

Mexican food chain sued Grammy-winning singer after he backed out of singing on ad he had received advance for

Frank Ocean paid up in the end - but he wasn't happy about it.

The Grammy-winning singer had been sued by Mexican food chain Chipotle for $212,500 after it had paid him that much as an advance for singing a song for an ad.

Ocean was to perform a remake of Pure Imagination for an animated ad titled The Scarecrow which is the companion film for Chipotle's new app-based game (see video below).
