The New Yorker magazine’s latest cover features two lesbian moms in honor of Mother’s Day.

The magazine, which featured an illustration of lesbian brides for a June cover last year, this week shows a lesbian couple in the kitchen, enjoying a Mother’s Day card and flowers as their children watch from the background.

Creator of the cover Chris Ware explained the cover on The New Yorker blog.

He wrote: ‘Fortunately, we humans are incessant editors, never happy with the first draft of anything.

Filmmaker speaks for first time about being transgender and fear of being rejected by her family

Lana Wachowski, famed for directing the Matrix series with brother Andy, has spoken out about being transgender for the first time, saying she was terrified about telling her family.

Formerly known as Larry, the filmmaker began transitioning in 2002 but appeared for the first time as a woman in a video promoting her new film Cloud Atlas in July.

Homophobic US rapper has change of heart after President Barack Obama backed same-sex marriage

US rapper 50 Cent has made a surprising u-turn on his previously homophobic stance by supporting gay hip hop star Frank Ocean and same-sex marriage.

The Get Rich or Die Tryin' artist has had his knuckles wrapped more than once for voicing his anti-gay views.

But now the New Yorker seems to have had a change of heart, standing up for hip hop singer Frank Ocean after he revealed his first love was a man.

He told MTV UK that anyone who has a problem with Ocean is an 'idiot'.
