Gay rapper Le1f has put a verbal smack-down on Lord Jamar of the Brand Nubians – telling him that he knows more about oppression than he does as a gay black man

Self-styled ‘hip hop conservative’ and rapper Lord Jamar has attacked openly gay rapper Le1f for performing on the Late Show with David Letterman in a skirt.

Jamar posted a link to a YouTube video of the performance, writing that he was ‘[a]bout to have a field day,’ over how Le1f had been dressed on the show – but it did not go unnoticed by Le1f.

NBC's coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in will now include New Yorker editor David Remnick focusing on Russia's politics including the country's anti-gay propaganda law.

Remnick is an expert on Russia writing pieces for The New Yorker about Russian politics and culture. He is the former Moscow bureau chief for the Washington Post.

'David is a distinguished journalist who knows Russia very well, and we’re excited to have his expertise on the host country for our Sochi coverage,' Jim Bell, executive producer, NBC Olympics, said in a statement.

Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie are the unlikely subjects of The New Yorker's marriage equality magazine cover out today.

The famous puppets - officially best friends - are seen cuddling as they watch a television set with an image of the nine US Supreme Court justices on it. the cover is titled 'Bert and Ernie’s Moment of Joy.'

The cover was submitted, unsolicited, to The New Yorker by Jack Hunter who tells the magazine: 'It’s amazing to witness how attitudes on gay rights have evolved in my lifetime. This is great for our kids, a moment we can all celebrate.'

Homophobic US rapper has change of heart after President Barack Obama backed same-sex marriage

US rapper 50 Cent has made a surprising u-turn on his previously homophobic stance by supporting gay hip hop star Frank Ocean and same-sex marriage.

The Get Rich or Die Tryin' artist has had his knuckles wrapped more than once for voicing his anti-gay views.

But now the New Yorker seems to have had a change of heart, standing up for hip hop singer Frank Ocean after he revealed his first love was a man.

He told MTV UK that anyone who has a problem with Ocean is an 'idiot'.
