Adidas chose to celebrate Valentine’s Day yesterday with an Instagram featuring a same-sex couple.

The caption read: ‘The love you take is equal to the love you make.’
But while the majority of comments were supportive and living, it wouldn’t be the internet without some bigotry.
Adidas quickly shut down the haters, telling them Valentine’s Day is ‘for love’ – not just for straight people.
Last week, Adidas announced they would protect LGBTI athletes from being dropped from their contracts if they come out.
‘Adidas acknowledges and adheres to the principles of diversity, as this is a central part of the Adidas group philosophy,’ the clause states.
‘Therefore Adidas warrants that this agreement will neither be terminated nor modified in case the athlete comes out to the public as a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community.’
