A gay escort has reportedly sent a 1,200 page dossier to the Vatican identifying 40 ‘actively gay’ priests.
Cardinal Cresenzio Sepe, the archdiocese of Naples, compiled the document based on findings by the rent boy.
The escort has allegedly had sex with many of the 40 priests working in the Catholic Church in Italy.
Cardinal Sepe said none of the men named worked in Naples.
But he said he decided to forward the file to the Vatican because ‘there remains the gravity of the cases for which those who have erred must pay the price, and be helped to repent for the harm done.’
The dossier reportedly supplies WhatsApp chats and other evidence and was brought to light by gay escort, Franceso Mangiacarpa, reported AP.
Letter to Vatican exposes ‘sins not crimes’
Magniacarpa told Italian media he outed the priests because he couldn’t stand their hypocrisy any longer:.
‘We’re talking about sins, not crimes,’ he said.
None of the men- including 36 priests and four seminarians – have been accused of having sex with minors.
The new claims are the latest scandal to hit both The Vatican and the Italian Church.
In November of last year, an Italian journalist just released explosive new book alleging underage gay sex in the Vatican youth seminary.
