A recent episode of Jeopardy! got a taste of RuPaul’s Drag Race and it was fabulous.
Contestant Doug Dodson, a classical singer from Boston, returned to the game show for a second night as the reigning champ. He’s one of five children, and the first to make it on the show, after two of his siblings failed to do so.
While serving some serious looks at the camera throughout the episode, his best moment came during Final Jeopardy.
For the final question, Dodson didn’t have the answer, so he wrote something else instead: ‘Back rolls?!’ He complimented it with a perfect rendition of Alyssa Edwards’ shocked expression.
The moment Dodson referenced is from Season 5 of Drag Race.
Alyssa and Jade are going at it, and Jade makes a comment about Alyssa’s ‘back rolls’. It instantly became a classic moment from the show.
Here it is to jog anyone’s memory:
Alex Trebek, host of Jeopardy!, didn’t understand the answer. He also called Dodson’s impression of Edwards a ‘robot’.
‘That’s going to go viral, just you wait,’ was all Dodson said in response. And he was right.
Drag Race fans were shook.

‘This is when you know you made it’
Believe it or not, the story gets better.
While doing press, someone showed Edwards a video of the moment.

‘This right here, this is when you know you’ve made it in life,’ she said. ‘When you are sittin’ on the couch, and you are the final answer to the question on Jeopardy!
‘I am sending you all my love, a Texas-sized hug. This is silly as hell. I cannot believe this.’
The answer to the final question, by the way, was Ben Affleck.
