American Idol’s Adam Lambert arrested in Finland

Openly gay US singer Adam Lambert has been arrested after a fight with his boyfriend outside of a gay bar in Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

Grammy nominated Lambert came second in 2009’s American Idol, and is currently dating the winner of Finland’s Big Brother 2007 Sauli Koskinen.

According to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, the pair had been at gay venue Don’t Tell Mama, before the fight between them broke out at around 4am. Lambert allegedly tried to fight off members of the public who sought to intervene before police later arrived at the scene.

Both men were then taken to police stations in separate areas of Helsinki: Lambert in Pasila and Sauli in Toolo.

Adam Lambert was known during his time in American Idol for his unusual look and ability to turn classic hits including Gary Jules’ Mad World and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

This week Adam Lambert released new single Better Than I Know Myself, from his upcoming album Trespassing, set for release in March 2012.
