Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen

Gay TV talk show host, Andy Cohen, revealed the gender of his unborn baby on live television.

Cohen revealed to his good friend and CNN news anchor, Anderson Cooper, that he was having a boy. Cohen made the revelation during Cooper’s live New Year’s Eve TV broadcast in New York.

‘It’s a boy,’ Cohen told Cooper. ‘And I tell you, I cannot wait to meet this boy.’

‘I never thought growing up as a gay man it would be possible to have family… but here we are.’

Cohen surprised the audience during the final episode of his Watch What Happens Live show by revealing he would soon become a dad via surrogate.

‘Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I’ve wanted in my heart for my entire life and while it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be my most rewarding chapter yet,’ he said during the show.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s parenting tips

Celebrities from Cher to Whoopi Goldberg appeared on Cooper’s New Year’s Eve.

But Australian celebrity power couple, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, had some words of advice for the first time dad.

‘Love that baby … The more loved a child is, the better they are in the world,’ Kidman told Cohen during the broadcast.
