Bisexual actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks to star in The Eternals, the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Oscar-winning actress might be about to make her debut as superhero in the movie by Chloe Zhao.

Production is also reportedly looking to cast an openly gay actor for one of the main roles.

Whoever books the gig will be the first gay actor to play an LGBTI protagonist in a Marvel’s movie.

The Eternals

The Eternals, off the 1976 comics created by James Kirby, will focus on the group of defenders and their war against The Defiants.

The Hollywood Reporter shed a light on the plot. One aspect of the story involves the romance between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.

It is unclear whom Jolie will play in the movie, set to be released in 2020.

However, fans are speculating about the role Jolie might book. Some maintain she might be in talks for the role of the immortal Sersi, due to the actress’s physical resemblance to the original character.

Photography to begin later this year

Principal photography will begin in September 2019.

Last year, the studio hired Matthew and Ryan Firpo to pen the script.

They then hired award-winning Zhao in September 2018. Zhao was behind the camera of films such as The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me.
