Ariana Grande transforms into Mean Girl Regina George in new music video

Ariana Grande as Regina George in thank u, next

It’s finally here — the epic music video for Ariana Grande’s latest single thank u, next.

The video features Grande starring in four beloved teen moves from the 2000s. Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Bring It On, and 13 Going on 30 are all featured in the five-and-a-half minute video.

The song has been teased all month. A trailer was released earlier this year.

The song is a break-up anthem, with Grande singing how she’s ‘so fuckin’ grateful for my ex’.

Iconic scenes from all four movies are recreated in the music video, from the Christmas dance in Mean Girls to Elle Woods on her elliptical in her dorm room (and of course Bruiser is in the video too).

There are also numerous cameos in the video.

Original Mean Girls actor Jonathan Bennett is in it, as is Kris Jenner, Troye Sivan, and Legally Blonde’s Jennifer Coolidge.

In November, Grande tweeted the mysterious words ‘thank u next’ following the break-up between her and ex-fianc√© Pete Davidson. She soon revealed lyrics from the new song, and also that Thank U, Next would be the name of her upcoming fifth studio album.

The song dropped with no prior announcement on 3 November.

It quickly broke records, earning the most streams in a single day by a female artist on Spotify. It also became number one on Billboard’s Hot 100, making Grande the first woman in three years to do so.

She was also named Billboard’s Woman of the Year.
