Ariana Grande to headline Manchester Pride in UK

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is to play in Manchester for the first time since 2017 when she headlines Manchester Pride in August.

The thank u, next singer will perform at Manchester Pride at a new 9,000-capacity outdoor venue on 25 August.

In the UK, Grande currently holds both number one and two spots in the UK singles charts, on top of a number one album.

The Sweetener star even became the first artist to hold the top three positions on the Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously.

A feat no-one has achieved since The Beatles.

Manchester Pride organizer Mark Fletcher said: ‘We’re truly honoured to be welcoming Ariana back to the city to help us celebrate LGBT+ life.’

Moving on

Twenty-two people died in a suicide attack outside Grande’s show at Manchester Arena in May 2017.

She previously said she would play a ‘special show’ in Manchester as part of her world tour.

The return for Grande will be emotional, who, two weeks after the bombing, staged a benefit concert in the city.

She spoke candidly about the attack last year: ‘Every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful.’

Years & Years

Joining Grande are pop band Years & Years.

Lead singer Olly Alexander will be coming fresh from his latest collaboration with MNEK for hit song Valentino.

They’ll even be joined by 80s band Bananarama and Pixie Lott.
