Top Australian underwear and swimwear company AussieBum are doing their bit to support the campaign to legalize same-sex marriage in Australia by releasing a special line of underwear highlighting the issue.
The Equality range of underwear retail for AU$21.45 and feature quotes and statistics about the level of support for the reform in Australia – and shipping is free.
‘Stand and be counted! That’s the message loud and clear with Equality – the latest hipsters and long legged underwear from aussieBum,’ the company says of its new range.
‘With ultra comfort and form hugging style, Equality makes a bold statement. Be true to your values with Equality the latest from the style gurus at aussieBum.’
AussieBum will donate 100% of profits from the sale of underwear in its Equality range to Australian Marriage Equality who will use the money raised to help convince more MPs to go public with their support on the issue as it seems to be reaching a critical tipping point in Australia.
Also doing her thing to support marriage equality in Australia is singer/songwriter Elizabeth Rose who will donate profits from her new single ‘Division’ to Australian Marriage Equalirt.
Australian Marriage Equality deputy director Ivan Hinton-Teoh thanked AussieBum and Rose for their support as the campaign works to make same-sex marriage a reality in Australia before the end of the year.
‘It is increasingly likely that marriage equality will be raised in parliament in 2015 and it is vital that the campaign is ready for the challenges that lay ahead,’ Hinton-Teoh said.
‘The campaign is set to go into overdrive and, while our entire team volunteers their time, it’s imperative that we’re prepared. The support of regular Australians joining #TeamEqual, along with companies like aussieBum and talents like Elizabeth Rose is critical to our success.’
