Backstreet Boys love their gay fans

Band member Nick Carter shows appreciation for gay fans who know how to have a good time

Backstreet Boys love their gay fans

American pop group Backstreet Boys are used to having droves of screaming girls throwing themselves at their feet.

But during their world tour with fellow man band New Kids On The Block, it's been the gay fans who have been catching their eye.

Nick Carter, one fourth of Backstreet Boys recently told UK gay magazine Attitude: 'We've definitely had a huge gay following at the concerts, and we love them. They know how to frickin' party!'

When asked why unlike New Kids, N*Sync or Westlife, Backstreet Boys have no gay members, Carter replied: 'I can't explain why. I think a lot of the guys are in touch with their feminine side though, if that's ok?'

Performing together with New Kids On The Block, under the name NKOTBSB, the two bands will continue their world tour in Europe starting with the Belfast Odyssey Arena on 20 April before continuing through Europe, Australia and Indonesia.

In 2011 Backstreet Boys' hit single I Want It That Way was blacklisted by China's ministry of culture, who deemed the pop-ballad too vulgar for public consumption.
