Bill Maher stuns TV audience by making gay murder joke about Karl Rove

Bill Maher shocked the audience of ABC’s talk show The View today with a joke about conservative political strategist Karl Rove.

During a discussion about Hillary Clinton, the host of HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, the commentator and comedian said the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate has long been the target of innuendo by political opponents.

‘This is what they do. She’s used to it, I mean look what Karl Rove did to her a couple weeks ago, bringing up brain damage and just saying, "Well, I’m not saying she does, I’m just putting it out there."’

He then said: ‘I wonder if Karl Rove’s gay lover that he murdered … oh, I’m not saying that’s definitely true, I’m just putting it out there.’

Maher was taking Rove to task for comments he made recently about a fall Clinton experienced in her home in December 2012.

Rove had said: ‘Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, she’s wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what’s up with that.’
