Openly gay actor and TV presenter Billy Eichner has dished on his experience as part of the stellar cast of the remake of The Lion King.
The movie also features the voices of Beyonce, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Keegan-Michael Key, and James Earl Jones.
Billy On The Street will be one half of the iconic duo Timon and Pumbaa. Eichner will be lending his voice to the meerkat, while Pumbaa the warthog will be voiced by actor and director Seth Rogen.
Live action or animation?
Eichner was a guest on Andy Cohen’s sofa during the latest episode of Watch What Happens Live together with bisexual actress Sarah Paulson.
He answered questions from fans of The Lion King and he addressed the live action vs. animation movie controversy.
‘Disney calls it live-action, I don’t want to step on their toes. It is an animated movie? I personally don’t see it as live action,’ he said.
‘It is hyperrealistic animation and I’ve seen parts of it and it is gorgeous,’ he explained.
Billy Eichner sings with Beyonce
‘Have you met Beyonce?’ asked Andy Cohen.
‘I have not, but I do sing with her in the movie,’ Eichner revealed.
‘Are you going to have a collective recording section?’ Sarah Paulson weighed in on the conversation.
Eichner went on to clarify whether he actually sings with the Formation singer.
‘Timon and Pumbaa start singing Can You Feel The Love Tonight and it segues into Beyonce and Donald Glover singing,’ Eichner said.
‘What do the haters have to say about that?’ he also joked.
