Upcoming DCEU movie Birds Of Prey might be the superhero film with the broadest LGBTI representation yet.
Following the announcement that Black Mask, the villain portrayed by Ewan McGregor, will be gay, speculations over another character in the movie by Cathy Yan have started.

The stand-alone movie on Margot Robbie’s bisexual Harley Quinn features yet another LGBTI character.
Lesbian policewoman Renee Montoya, played by In Living Color actress Rosie Perez, not only won’t be straight-washed in the film, but will also be in a same-sex relationship.
Her rumored onscreen partner is an unnamed law enforcement colleague played by comedienne Ali Wong. She will star as the mother of Cassandra Cain, a young martial art expert played by 12-year-old Ella Jay Basco.
Wong’s latest work is Netflix romcom Always Be My Maybe, where she plays chef star Sasha. She also penned the fist three seasons of Fresh Off The Boat.
According to WeGotThisCovered, Wong and Perez’s characters will kiss onscreen, beating any MCU movie to it.
Renee Montoya dated Batwoman

In the DC comics, Renee has been in a relationships with Kate Kane/Batwoman, but it doesn’t look like the couple will make an appearance on to the silver screen.
The character played by Ruby Rose, in fact, will only appear on TV.
Rose’s Kate debuted as Batwoman on the CW Network’s show Elseworlds on 9 December 2018.
Over three consecutive nights, Elseworlds focused on three beloved characters of the huge Arrowverse. The episodes centered on The Flash (played by Stephen Amell), Arrow (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) respectively.
Batwoman stand-alone series, by super producer Greg Berlanti, will debut on 6 October.
