Boy George his responded to a report that he kicked his ex-lover Jon Moss out of Culture Club ahead of their six-week European tour, calling it ‘fact-starved’.
‘Jon has been in floods of tears and is beside himself with grief,’ a source told The Sun.
‘He says he was fired by Boy for no apparent reason and that a new drummer has even been found to replace him on the band’s upcoming tour,’ they also added.
Sources told the publication Boy George apparently couldn’t bear the thought of traveling with Jon.
‘Untrue, fact starved’
However, The Boy took to Twitter to to debunk the news.
‘Any of you who have posted the “untrue”, “fact starved” article from “The Sun” today, will get blocked if you don’t remove it,’ he said.
‘This is the only way to remove it from my timeline!’
The Do You Really Want To Hurt Me singer and his bandmates have just released a new album, Life.
A band spokesperson told Gay Star News: ‘Jon’s taking a break from Culture Club but the door is open in the future’.
A source close to the band furthermore told us: ‘Jon is just taking some time out as it has been a full on year with the huge US tour and now the record and then the Euro tour. He wants to spend more time with his family and it was a lot.’
‘He was drop-dead gorgeous’
BG and Jon had a four-year love affair during the band’s 80s heyday. Jon later married a woman, with whom he has three children.
Speaking about Moss to The Guardian in 2008, Boy George said: ‘There are some relationships that transcend all the rules of gay and straight, male and female. I’ve had two in my life. Jon Moss was one.’
Jon was a ‘real jack-the-lad,’ Boy George furthermore added. ‘With far too much aftershave on and this little diamond earring. He was drop-dead gorgeous.’
