Brad Pitt is finally opening up for the first time since his split last fall from Angelina Jolie.
The Oscar-winning producer (13 Years a Slave) and staunch LGBTI ally shares that music has been helping to sooth his soul – particularly the music of out performer Frank Ocean.
‘I’ve been listening to a lot of Frank Ocean,’ Pitt tells GQ Style in a new cover story.
‘I find this young man so special. Talk about getting to the raw truth. He’s painfully honest. He’s very, very special. I can’t find a bad one.’
Pitt has also been listening to Marvin Gaye’s touchstone album about divorce Here, My Dear.
‘I just got R&B for the first time. R&B comes from great pain, but it’s a celebration,’ he said. ‘To me, it’s embracing what’s left.’
Ocean’s debut studio album Channel Orange was released in July 2012. In 2016, the 29-year-old Ocean released the visual album Endless alongside his second studio album Blonde.
