British monk charged with harassment, posting anti-gay leaflets

A British monk has been charged with the harassment of two women after he allegedly posted a homophobic leaflet in their mailboxes.

Damon Jonah Kelly, 53, from Northamptonshire, will appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on 18 May.

Northampton Police confirmed the charge relates to two incidents in Edward Road, Leicester on 15 October and 29 October 2014.

The two women, who were subjected to comments after a letter was sent to them, say the content of the leaflet caused them anxiety and distress.
