Britney Spears teases her first gender-neutral fragrance with steamy video

Britney Spears has announced the release of her new fragrance, Prerogative, with a steamy Instagram clip. It’s the first gender-neutral option in her ever-expanding collection.

The fragrance, presumably named after her 2004 cover of Bobby Brown’s My Prerogative, is her 24th. It follows the success of previous instalments in her perfume empire such as Fantasy and Curious.

The trailer for the perfume sees a latex-clad Spears gyrating in front of a wall of CCTV footage. The 36 year-old pop icon rubs her gym-toned body against television sets, spraying her perfume on images of semi-naked men.

She captioned the video with: ‘Prerogative. A fragrance for all. #MyPrerogative’.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Spears said of her new fragrance’s title: ‘I think it’s so bold. There is no judgments and no labels and it’s just, it’s very fresh and empowerment for women and I think for men and women.

‘I feel like it’s powerful and sexy for girls to have a little bit of an ego and it’s OK to toot your own horn. It’s really important these days.’

Prerogative will be available from Walmart and Kohl’s in August. Some fans have already been able to obtain the perfume early. One fan lucky enough to do so described the fragrance as ‘on the sweeter side’.

Britney Spears set to headline Brighton Pride

Meanwhile, Spears is currently in the midst of the US leg of her Piece of Me Tour.

The tour, her ninth outing and first in six years, takes her Las Vegas show to audiences worldwide since her four-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino ended in December 2017.

The European leg of the tour kicks off on August 4th, with a show at the UK’s Brighton Pride.
