Burger King has transformed a Whopper into diamonds for a gay couple’s wedding.

The corporation in Germany decided to celebrate Pride in a very unusual way.

They grilled a burger far longer than necessary until it was ash, and transformed the carbon into a diamond.

Dima and Alvar are from an Eastern European country, not mentioned, where same-sex marriage is illegal.

Paying for the whole wedding, the couple were brought to Germany where they could celebrate the wedding.

And, for being a part of the campaign, they created their diamonds.

The pair described it as a ‘dream come true’ in a spot that ends with the wedding celebration.

Klaus Schmäing, Director of Marketing in  Burger King Germany, said: ‘Guests can choose their Whopper in any country, and together with Dima and Alvar, we want to show that everyone should have the freedom to make their own decisions, especially in love.’

Burger King Germany is also sponsoring this year’s Christopher Street Day (Germany’s version of Pride) in Cologne on 7 July.

The fast food company also said they will be making donations to LGBTI rights groups.
