Caitlyn Jenner shatters Twitter record by reaching 1 million followers in just four hours

Caitlyn Jenner joined Twitter on Monday and set a record by reaching 1 million followers in just four hours.

Jenner broke the record set by President Barack Obama who recently launched the @POTUS handle and reached one million followers in under five hours.

The launch of the verified account @Caitlyn_Jenner coincided with the unveiling of the Vanity Fair magazine cover featuring the former Bruce Jenner as a woman for the first time.

Jenner also launched the Instagram account caitlynjenner on Monday with a post of the magazine cover and the same message she posted on Twitter: ‘Everybody has challenges in dealing with life. I’m so happy after such a long struggle and finally living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. It feels so good. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.’

UPDATE: Jenner took to Twitter Monday evening to comment on the record: ‘Another Jenner world record, and at 65? Who’da thought! Humbled & honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs. Thank you for your support.’
