Country music star Cameron Hawthorn released a catchy new music video featuring same-sex couples on Friday (8 March).
In the video to Dancing in the Living Room, there is a diversity of couples. These include a same-sex female couple moving in together and an elderly couple dancing in their kitchen. And of course, Hawthorn dancing with his own partner.
‘I’ve got you in my arms and I’m right at home,’ Hawthorn sings over the image of two men holding each other.
Not much is known about Hawthorn except that he was born and raised in Andover, Kansas.
He’s previously released songs entitled Mama’s Love, Take Me To The Water and Road Trip.
Cameron Hawthorn: ‘I’m so happy that I can finally stand proud in being who I am’
Hawthorn publicly addressed his sexuality for the first time in November last year.
He wrote in a lengthy caption that he just went to see the movie Boy Erased and it moved him.
‘But you see, I’m also gay,’ he wrote. ‘And I haven’t felt like I could say that proudly until very recently.’
He then continued: ‘My journey getting here has taken many years and hasn’t been easy. There has been a lot of confusion, doubt, heartbreak and pain along the way. But also a lot of freedom, openness, and love.
‘I’m so happy that I can finally stand proud in being who I am,’ he said.
