Transphobes are attacking Charlize Theron for supporting her trans child.

The Academy Award-winning actor revealed her oldest child is actually her daughter.

Jackson, aged seven, said she identified as a girl to her mom at the age of three.

‘Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,’ Charlize told the Daily Mail.

‘Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: “I am not a boy!”.

‘So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.’

But some transphobes do not agree with Theron.

Many comments online are calling the Mad Max: Fury Road star a ‘devil’, an ‘unfit parent’ and a ‘monster’.

Others are also mocking Theron using tired transphobia.

But others are overwhelmingly moved by Theron’s support.

Author Juno Dawson said: ‘This made me tear up. My life would have been so different if my parents had just let me be me as a kid. Adopt me, Charlize.’

Amanda Jette Knox, a mother of a trans child, wrote an op-ed for O Magazine.

‘This visibility is a bright beacon in darker times,’ she said.

‘The more families who stand proudly beside their trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming kids, the more it normalizes our experiences and breeds wider acceptance.’

Attorney Chase Strangio said: ‘Thank you Charlize for being the type of parent all kids deserve.’

Theron has not responded to any criticism online.

She later said in the interview: ‘My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be.

‘And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.’

Theron has long been an LGBTI allyIn 2012, she vowed to not get married until same-sex marriage was legalized. Then in 2017 she criticised the lack of bisexual representation in Hollywood.
