Today (30 June) is New York City’s annual Pride parade. This year, New York is home to WorldPride, which is apropos considering it’s the 50 year anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. In 1969, the Stonewall uprising kicked off the LGBTI rights movement as we know it today.
Starting at Madison Square Park, marching down 5th Avenue and into NYC’s historic West Village, an estimated 115,000 attendees celebrate LGBTI history.
Among the Grand Marshals at this year’s Pride is the cast of hit FX show Pose, The Trevor Project, and the Gay Liberation Front (the original group who organized following the Stonewall riots).
Check out these fun and festive photos from 2019’s New York City Heritage of Pride parade.
