Legendary diva, Cher, took to Twitter to announce her first UK tour in 14 years.

Cher revealed she would perform a show at The O2 on Sunday 20 October, 2019 as part of Here We Go Again World Tour.

But the 72-year-old will also perform in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Leeds in October next year.

Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday 14 December at 10am.

‘I’m very excited to bring this show to the UK,’ Cher said in a statement.

‘It was the first country to embrace Sonny & Cher, and its where we created and had our first success with “Believe”. It’s really my second home.’

Cher returned to touring after headlining the 40th anniversary party of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this year. She followed up that iconic performance with a sold out tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The Grammy, Oscar and Emmy award winner holds the UK record for the biggest selling of all time by a female artist for Believe. She used that famous track to tease news of her UK tour on Twitter the day before the big announcement.

As well as playing a wide selection of hits from her acclaimed back catalogue, Cher will also treat fans to numbers from her ABBA covers album which arrived earlier this year.

Cher released the album Dancing Queen after starring in Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again.

Gay Star News described Dancing Queen as the album ‘to save 2018’.

‘Dancing Queen is about fun, entertainment, dizzy abandonment. She knows how to please a crowd, while also acknowledging the desires of her die-hard fans,’ GSN’s entertainment editor, Jamie Taberrer wrote in his review.
