Cher developing a show for Logo

An icon is making a return to the small screen. Cher is working with the LGBT TV channel Logo to develop a pilot.

As reported by Huffington Post, the show is a period drama and is to be set in 1960s Hollywood. Now Cher is set to be one of the writers, but she could also be part of the cast.

Brent Zacky, Logo’s senior vice president of original programming, announced the project yesterday, 5 December, at the Television Critics Association press tour.

‘The deal is brand-new and we’re just getting started on the project … We’re very carefully and hopefully diligently taking a few shots in this arena and we’ll see how it pans out,’ Zacky said as reported by the Huffington Post. ‘We’re certainly excited to be in business with an icon like Cher.’

Veteran television writer Ron Zimmerman is working with Cher on the show.

The icon ruled the airwaves approximately 40 years ago with the variety show The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. The show aired from 1971 to 1974.
