Calling all gypsies, tramps and thieves, as gay icon Cher will be performing at New York Pride.
On 30 June, the ‘Dark Lady’ will be headlining this year’s 27th annual Dance on the Pier.
In addition to performing many of her hit singles from the past six decades, Cher will be performing her brand-new single ‘Woman’s World.’
Chris Frederick, managing director of NYC Pride, said he was ‘thrilled’ Cher didn’t bang bang, shot him down and could welcome her to the stage this year.
He said: ‘Her performance will be one of the most memorable in the history of this world-class party.
‘Now in its 27th year, the Dance on the Pier continues a proud tradition of partnering with all-star talent to create a high-quality event that raises funds to support local LGBT non-profits and New York City’s annual Pride festivities.’
Cher won’t be walking to Memphis, she’ll be shoop shooping down to a brand new venue on Hudson River Park’s Pier 26.
The singer and actress will join previously announced performer Deborah Cox for the event, joining a long list of past performers including Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez.
