How did you come out: DMC – deep, meaningful conversation – or a text message? How about a slam poem?
Perhaps unintentionally that’s how Chris Oflyng, one of YouTube’s teenage stars, decided to come out as ‘multi-sexual’.
He says this video was a long time coming.
‘I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time, a really long time.
‘For the past few months I’ve been thinking I could just say what I want to say about my sexuality. I’m going to be honest. I don’t want to get it wrong.
‘I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my sexuality, literally thousands of questions.’
While trying to answer some of these questions – at around 3.11 – Oflyng’s message starts to develop a little beat. By around 6 minutes, it’s a full-on rap.
Oflyng says he’s open to be attracted to people of any gender, including those who don’t identify with any.
‘This is the label that I’m choosing: Multi-sexual. That’s me,’ he says.
Multi-sexual means anyone who doesn’t identify as bisexual or pansexual, but does not discriminate by gender when feeling attracted to somebody.
