Complaints made to Celebrity Big Brother over James Jordan’s ‘homophobic’ comment

James Jordan accused of homophobia in Celebrity Big Brother

Celebrity Big Brother has been hit with new homophobic claims after former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan made a comment to Austin Armacost.

Jordan clashed with the gay A List: New York star after the latter demanded to leave and complained he couldn’t take the pressure of the show anymore.

Following Austin threatening to punch James, the Strictly pro said: ‘Listen, you don’t want me to start, or I’ll hurt you.

‘If you want to play with the rough boys, you’re going to get yourself hurt. You’re used to playing with little soft boys. Don’t play with real boys.’

Austin seemed unfazed by the comment, replying: ‘Don’t play with the dancer yeah, because the dancer’s the rough boy.’

Viewers believe the phrase ‘soft boys’ was a direct homophobic comment.

However, other viewers disagreed.

‘Let’s twist it and make out James Jordan is homophobic,’ one tweeted. ‘He is not. I’m gay and I watched last night’s ep.’

A Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson said: ‘Big Brother does not tolerate unacceptable language in the Big Brother House. Big Brother intervenes where necessary to remind housemates of this.’

The show comes after X Factor US star Stacy Francis was also accused of homophobia after referring to Austin as ‘the gay boy’. CBB producers intervened and warned Stacy over her comments.
