The Voice is being attacked after airing a drag performance during last night’s finale.
Chris Weaver, who was eliminated earlier in the season, returned to the stage as his drag persona Nedra Belle.
Bringing along other drag stars Jan Sport, Lagoona Bloo and Rosé (members of Stephanie’s Child), the performance of Bang Bang also featured singer Jessie J.
Complaints made to The Voice for drag performance
While many applauded the performance, others attacked it as The Voice is a ‘family show’.
‘That was disgusting. NBC you should be ashamed of yourselves. This was supposed to be a family show,’ one said on Twitter.
‘I am beyond disappointed by the ‘drag queen’ performance. Does The Voice feel pressured, by so-called new gender norms, to get down in the gutter? Disgusting. I’m done.’
Others attacked the performance as ‘children are watching’ and said The Voice had ‘jumped the shark’.
One referred to the show as ‘discussing’, which may have been a typo.
The Voice says: ‘WE WANT MORE.’
The Voice said on Twitter: ‘We’ve never seen The Voice stage like that before and all we can say is, WE WANT MORE.’

And it appears judges Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson loved it too.
