Glee star Cory Monteith died over weekend after using heroin and drinking alcohol, according to autopsy and toxicological analysis announced today.
‘It should be noted that at this point there is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith’s death was anything other than a most-tragic accident,’ stated the British Columbia Coroners Service.
The investigation into this death is continuing but no other details are available at this time. When the investigation is concluded, a Coroners Report will be issued.
The actor was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, shortly after noon on 13 July. He had checked into the hotel a week earlier.
Monteith, 31, played Finn Hudson on Glee for four seasons. His character started as a football star and evolved into glee club star and post-graduation advisor to the group.
His stepbrother was the gay character of Kurt Hummel played by Chris Colfer of whom Finn was supportive.
Apparently for this reason, the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church posted a series of homophobic tweets about the actor after his death and announced that it planned to protest at his funeral.
