Viewers aren’t happy about certain jokes in Dave Chappelle’s latest stand-up special.

In his Netflix special, The Bird Revelation, which first premiered on 31 December, Chappelle discussed Anthony Rapp and Kevin Spacey.

At the end of October, Rapp accused Spacey of sexually abusing him when he was 14 and Spacey was 26. This led to a domino effect of consequences for Spacey. He was booted from his Netflix series House of Cards and the Ridley Scott movie All the Money in the World.

‘Wow, I mean it is really bad out here,’ Chappelle says in the special. ‘Kevin Spacey’s out here, grabbing men by the pussy! I didn’t even know that was possible!’

In 1986, Rapp attended a party at Spacey’s apartment. This is when the alleged abuse took place.

Chappelle continued: ‘I’ve been to a lot of parties in my day. Never been to a good one that had 14-year-old boys in it. All joking aside, Kevin Spacey shouldn’t have done that shit to that kid. He was 14 years old and forced to carry a grown man’s secret for 30 years.’

Despite that singular serious aside, the jokes continued.

‘The saddest part is, if he had been able to carry that secret for another six months, I would get to know how House of Cards ends.’

He also victim-blamed Rapp for the scenario.

‘And not to victim-blame,’ he begins. ‘But it seems like the kind of situation that a gay 14-year-old kid would get himself into.’

Chappelle also commented that Rapp ‘grew up to be gay anyway’ and Spacey ‘sniffed that shit out like a truffle pig’.

‘Go find your morals’

Twitter was not having any of it. People quickly tweeted their condemnation and criticism of Chappelle’s jokes.

In the special, Chappelle also addressed the accusations against Louis C.K. and said he found them funny.
