Just after their Led Zeppelin collection, Vans is looking to another rock and roll legend for inspiration; the one, the only, David Bowie.
The American skater sneaker brand is collaborating with the estate of David Bowie for a four-shoe unisex capsule collection.
Each of the kicks will nod to a classic LP from Bowie’s sequinned and glam catalogue.
Shoe oddity
The four unisex shoes capture the look and sound of Bowie’s most iconic beats.
The ‘Slip-On 47 VDX’ will pay tribute to Bowie’s 1971 album, Hunky Dory. Fuzzy and checked with a mustard strap, oh! They’re pretty things.
While ‘Sk8-Hi’ has a design paying homage to Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust era, with a slick cream finish and iconic red lighting bolt across the side.

Moreover, the ‘Old Skool’ model recalls Bowie’s 1973 Aladdin Sane days. The hi-top shoe has a bold ‘Bowie’ logo slapped on the side, which would look great watching someone dash away in.
The ‘Era’ model brings Space Oddity to the ground. The oceanic green shoe covered in blue polka-dots is finished by ‘Space’ from the album’s artwork printed on the mid-sole.
Furthermore, the Sk8-Hi Platform 2.0 pays tribute to Bowie’s glam rock alter-ego Ziggy Stardust. Red patent leather immerses the shoe, matching Ziggy’s metallic red bouffant, with a dipped black sole.
David Bowie’s last album, ★, is highlighted across Vans Classic Slip-On model. Black and a combo of canvas and suede uppers, the model memorializes the artist, replete with galaxies of stars in the footbed.
Starman uniform
But the collection doesn’t stop there.

Tees, tops, and snapbacks emblazened with the man who fell to earth are also part of this straosphereic collection.
They are set to drop on 5 April; just in time for sunrise.
Bowie fans and hypebeast enthusiasts alike can grab the shoes from the House of Vans and select stockists worldwide.
