Canadian director David Furnish has questioned the integrity of the Golden Globes following his husband Sir Elton John's defeat at the hands of Madonna.
Sir Elton lost out on the award for Best Original Song to Madonna, who took home the prize for her ballad Masterpiece from the film WE.
The New York Post has quoted Furnish as saying: 'I think it was a fluke. When this happens you have to question the integrity of the awards. Did Madonna get the Golden Globe because she attended the awards and agreed to be a presenter?
Furnish continued his tirade against the pop singer saying: 'Can you sing Madonna's song? Can you hum it? It's a song nobody has heard from a film few have seen. The award should have gone to Mary J Blige or Elton.'
Furnish has had no issue with expressing his disapproval of Madonna's win, writing on social networking site Facebook: 'Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!
