Spoilers ahead, so please don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happens.
The spin-off to Avatar: The Last Airbender ended last night with the lead character Korra taking Asami’s hand and walking off into the spirit world together.
The relationship, nicknamed ‘Korrasami by fans, has been heavily hinted at over the years.
In season 4 episode Korra Alone, the two are seen trading letters that seem to hint at their close relationship.
‘Dear Korra, I miss you.’ were the first words of Asami’s letter.
Korra responded: ‘Please don’t tell [male characters] Mako and Bolin I wrote to you and not them. I don’t want to hurt their feelings, it’s easier to tell you about this stuff.’
We have also seen many other shows of female bonding, like when Asami has looked after Korra after fights.
Fans have been very excited about the ending of the show.
‘Too bad they couldn’t kiss, lest Nickelodeon starts receiving complaints from the Conservative Moms Club,’ one said on Reddit.
‘IT HAPPENED. It totally happened. I’m almost in ecstatic shock at that ending. I mean, it’s really real, right?! Best ending ever!’
