Drag queen ‘heath whore’ faces charity roasting

Legendary drag star Sandra is set to face a ‘right royal roasting’ in aid of an HIV charity in London.

The Drag Roast is being organized by gay magazine QX and pub Royal Vauxhall Tavern, aiming to raise funds for HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust.

The Whore of Hampstead Heath will face the wrath of her drag circuit friends as they deliver one hilarious story after another.

Famous female impersonator Lola Lasagne, along with Dave Lynn and Titti La Camp, will be one of the roasters to deliver a few scathing put downs along with a few tales from Sandra’s past.

Speaking to Gay Star News, Lasagne said: ‘I have known [Sandra] for 25 years. A good roast is a mixture of telling stories and being absolutely vile, I’m leaning to towards the later.’

Lasagne has roasted two others before and was the recipient of a ‘good roasting’ in Brighton earlier this year, described it as ‘great fun’.

‘I actually had a say in who my roasters were, so I knew they would have good stories to tell. They were all on top of their games and it was a fantastic night with a good atmosphere.’

It is not all one sided though, as Sandra will get the chance to turn the tables on her roasters and deliver some razor-sharp put downs of her own.

Amelia Woods, Senior Community Fundraiser at Terrence Higgins, said: ‘We’re hugely grateful to Sandra and her roasters for stepping up to the mike.

‘It’s all for a good cause, with every penny raised going to support people living with and at risk of HIV in the UK.’

Sandra’s Drag Roast will take place on 11 October at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Kennington Lane, London. Tickets for the roast cost £10 (€12) and doors open at 7pm.
