Ellen Page has criticized actor Chris Pratt for attending the anti-LGBTI Hillsong Church.

The LEGO Movie 2 actor spoke about his faith on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert yesterday (7 February).

Hollywood Reporter later tweeted: ‘Fresh from fasting, @prattprattpratt talks about his spiritual side on @colbertlateshow’.

On seeing the tweet, Page pointed out that the church is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ’.

She tweeted: ‘Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?’

Followers quickly praised the Juno star for speaking out against the church.

One tweeted: ‘I have never in my life stanned a girl like this.’

‘She is Not. Holding. Back!!!!’ another user said.

‘We do not affirm a gay lifestyle’

Hillsong’s leader Brian Houston said in a statement in 2015: ‘Hillsong Church welcomes ALL people but does not affirm all lifestyles.

‘We do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.’

Justin Bieber and wife Hailey Bieber are known to attend the church, which originally hailed from Australia.

An outspoken LGBTI advocate

Page is an outspoken advocate of the LGBTI community.

The lesbian actor, who married Emma Portner last year, delivered a powerful speech on Stephen Colbert last week (31 January).

She accused Donald Trump and Mike Pence of trying to ’cause suffering’ to the LGBTI community.

Meanwhile, Page is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming graphic novel adaptation The Umbrella Academy.

The 10-episode series arrives on Netflix on 15 February.
